Congratulations, the brilliant and visionary designer Bruce Mau, recipient of the 2016 National Design Award for ‘Design Mind.’ It has been a great year for Mau who was also recognized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a recipient of its Collab Award which was marked by a wonderful exhibition ‘Work on What You Love: Bruce Mau Rethinking Design.’ Mau can be hardly called a designer as he is known for a broad approach that includes of visual identities, brand systems, books, packaging, trade shows, and exhibition graphics, which he has created for such clients as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Herman Miller, Walt Disney Imagineering, the governments of Denmark, Guatemala, Panama, and Saudi Arabia, and architects Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas, and SOM.
