Mid-Century Design: Summer Mini-Course
5-Session Online
The summer course is back! Join me this summer for a 5-session series of The Story of Modern Design and this time, we will explore the mid-century. The furniture, the fashion, the cars, the lifestyle, the architecture, the allure.
Design educator, historian, and connoisseur Daniella Ohad presents a unique online mini-course exploring the foundation of modern design history. The 5-session program provides an overview of mid-century design, one of the most exciting and beloved periods in design and architectural history. Each talk in the series will be devoted to one of the five key geographical centers in the production of modern design during the postwar years – the United States; France; Italy; Brazil; Scandinavia — and will explore a variety of themes including furniture, interiors, architecture, fashion, cars, and objects. Students will develop an understanding of the story of design and its visual vocabulary. The classes will NOT be recorded.
